The Unhappy Home
Long ago, in a far-off land, two siblings named Hansel and Gretel lived in a humble hut. This modest dwelling was hidden deep in the heart of a dark, mysterious forest. Their father worked from sunrise to sunset to provide for his family. Despite his efforts, times were tough, and meals were often nothing more than a small loaf of bread.
The Wicked Witch
On a day that seemed no different from any other, their stepmother, who was secretly an evil witch, decided she’d had enough of them. She packed a small bag for each child, filled only with crumbs, and led them deep into the woods under the guise of a picnic. Her true plan was to leave them there, alone and lost.
The Magic Forest
Yet, the forest they feared held secrets not of danger, but of magic. Hansel and Gretel stumbled upon talking animals that whispered secrets of the woods, helpful fairies that danced around them in circles of light, and even a gingerbread man who told jokes that made them forget their sorrows for a moment.
The Gingerbread House
Not long after leaving the magical creatures behind, Hansel and Gretel stumbled upon the most wondrous sight yet: a house constructed entirely of gingerbread, adorned with candy windows and a frosting roof. The Trickster Witch

Transforming herself into a kind old lady, she appeared before Hansel and Gretel, offering them shelter and meals within her gingerbread abode. She locked Hansel in a cage and put Gretel to work, intending to feast on them once they were plump enough.
The Brotherly Bond
But the witch underestimated the bond between Hansel and Gretel. Whispering through the wooden bars of the cage, they devised a plan. Each day, when the witch checked if Hansel was fat enough to eat, he presented a thin bone instead of his finger. Fooled by their trick, the witch grew increasingly frustrated with how long it was taking for Hansel to fatten up. Meanwhile, Gretel discovered the witch’s weakness: her poor eyesight. Seizing the opportunity, Gretel tricked the witch into leaning over a large pot of boiling water, and with all her might, she pushed the wicked stepmother in. With the witch gone, the siblings freed themselves and discovered the witch’s treasure hidden in the house. They filled their pockets with gold and jewels, determined to bring their fortune back to their father.
The Triumphant Return
After escaping the clutches of the witch, Hansel and Gretel journeyed through the enchanted forest, eager to see their father again. With each step, their hearts grew lighter, and soon, the familiar sights of home came into view. Bursting through the door, they found their father, whose eyes filled with tears of joy at the sight of his beloved children. He hugged them tight, relief and happiness washing over him. Together again, they shared tales of their adventure, marveling at how much they had overcome.

In the days that followed, their father worked harder than ever to ensure they never faced such peril again. No longer would Hansel and Gretel worry about being hungry or alone.
